A neuroma is a painful condition that can also be referred to as a “pinched nerve” or a nerve tumor. It is a painful benign growth of nerve tissue in the forefoot near the toes. Symptoms include pain, a burning sensation, tingling, or numbness between the toes and in the ball of the foot. Patients will often describe the pain as similar to having a stone in his or her shoe. There are many conservative treatments to manage neuroma however on occasion surgical correction is needed
